Before installing, you can use rubbing alcohol to wipe off any dust or debris. Newer guns tend to be more oily, so you might need to clean it twice. Then wipe it off, or with some parts you can rinse with warm water and let dry. Make sure to scrub all the recessed areas to remove oil and dirt. We use a gun-specific degreaser and a small brush. Why will the GunSkin not stick to my gun/accessory? You must thoroughly clean the gun/accessory before installing the GunSkin. For irregular shaped butt-stocks or other accessories, you will want to use a Large Gear Skin instead.
The kit comes with pre-cut pieces, 3” x 29” barrel, 7” x 10” receiver, 7” x 19” forend, and two pieces for the butt-stock. We have used a X-Acto and sharp box knife to trim the RFW, making cut-outs for bipod studs, pic rail etc. These items are not fire resistant, so please be careful with semi/full auto rates of fire.Will GunSkins fit my Rifle? GunSkins Rifle Skin kit, will fit most rifles. A new feature is that the RFW can now be trimmed by the user. Once the stock is clean and they are applied, the RFW can easily be placed. If you have a traditional wood or fiberglass stock, where the barrel is exposed, we suggest using the sticky strips on these stocks. This gives them a clean, low-profile presentation. After bonding they are Laser cut to size and lacing holes cut out. The materials are bonded together, not sewn. They can be mounted using the strips of sticky backed Velcro (provided) or with the shoelace option(the small size is Velcro only, no shoelace option). The RFW is made of a rubberized material that is bonded to the soft/loop side of Velcro. In addition it will provide protection to your rifle when used on hard surfaces. When held against a hard material like a barricade, wall, tree or rock, the RFW reduces movement when shooting, allowing for better shot placement and follow-up shots.
The RFW is non-slip, providing for extra grip in your hand, even when wet. The Rifle Forend Wrap allows shooters more traction, friction, and padding on the front of their rifle.
